Some of the new fly tying materials we added this year come from Pat Cohen, an award winning fly tyer who lives in upstate NY and continues to develop a growing list of fly tying materials and tools. Pat himself specializes in deer hair bass bugs but he ties plenty of other flies as well. You can see them all at his site, SuperFly.

We’ve found these new products to be very popular and for those of you who haven’t tried them yet, we’re highlighting the items we are stocking now –

Cohen’s Frog Legs – white die-cut patterns that make your flies come alive in the water and are designed to fit nicely with any style floating foam or spun-hair frog pattern. The range of sizes let you make everything from Bullfrogs to Treefrogs.

Cohen’s Attractor Tails – add one of these to make your fly a coiled menace that will spark the defensive instinct of many fish species.

Cohen’s Creatures – laser-cut from white ultra-suede, these bodies make realistic crayfish and hellgrammite patterns with all their lifelike appendages. Check out this video of Pat tying his Jiggy Craw using Cohen’s Creature bodies.

All these materials are well suited to coloring with the Copic Airbrush System and Copic Markers.

Also take a look at Cohen’s Carp Dub. Pat hand selected and blended this dubbing specifically to create the subtle color changes, hues, UV reflective quality and subtle lifelike movement that will get carp feeding.

Let us know what you think of these new items and, as always, if you see other materials and tools we should add to our store, send us an email!
